The Oral Language Kit provides varied activity-oriented materials for developing, enriching, and refining children's language development in the early childhood classroom. The materials and lessons are designed to use a developmentally appropriate approach to language learning by weaving in play, as well as whole-body and hands-on activities. Poetry Big Book
Ten songs and poems are intended to be sung and/or chanted aloud. The poems have accompanying actions so that students can engage in playful whole-body movements. The audio CD features songs that students can listen to and join in, as well as music-only tracks that allow students to create their own version of the songs. Fluent readings of each piece are also provided for use in the Listening Centre. A digital version of the Big Book is provided on DVD for use with an interactive whiteboard. The digital texts have annotation tools, audio of the fluent readings and songs, plus a digital cloze option for each selection.

Two wordless picture books can be used to model oral storytelling, as well as appropriate vocabulary and language structures. You can encourage active participation in oral storytelling, active listening, and promote an understanding of story structure�beginning, events, actions, and endings.
