    Info Tales Spreads

    Flip Books for Grades 2–4

    Info Tales—32 levelled flip-books—have one side featuring a beautifully illustrated traditional folk tale, and the flip side featuring information about the country, culture, or topic.

    Student Books:

    Non-fiction Side:

    • Includes a mix of different text-types such as reports, poetry, recipes, interviews, instructions, journals, jokes, and photo essays
    • Includes a map of the region where the story originates
    • Has many connections to Science and Social Studies curriculum

    Fiction Side:

    • Allows students to make text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-to-world connections
    • Fosters an appreciation of different cultures from around the world, and some of the Indigenous peoples of Canada

    Teaching Support

    • Each flip-book has a corresponding 8-page teaching card for guided reading lessons on the non-fiction side and suggestions for how to use the fiction side. The fiction side is levelled 1–2 levels lower, allowing the teacher options for how to best use it (mini-book clubs, independent or guided reading)
